Bill: The Mandatory Vaccination Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: The Green Manalishi Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2603
Description[?]:
We believe that the best option to protect the health of our citizens in this area is to enforce mandatory vaccinations. Unless another party can produce a strong argument against the proposal then we assume anyone who rejects the chance of vaccination to be putting other citizens at risk and potentially placing a bigger burden on the health service in the long-term. N.B - We, The GMP, refuse to consider the religious stance of refusal in this matter as an insult to the majority of our citizens. |

Message | people have a right to control what goes into their bodies, and it is nothing short of tyrannical for the state for force the violation of religious principles, whatever the perceived benefits. |
Date | 12:35:37, July 05, 2008 CET | From | The Green Manalishi Party | To | Debating the The Mandatory Vaccination Act |
Message | Though we loosely agree with the first part of your response, refusal to be vaccinated on religious grounds can affects something like the '1 bad apple' syndrome; posing a selfish moral dilemma and potential, actual risk to the vast majority of people that will have no problem in being immunized. |
Date | 19:28:32, July 05, 2008 CET | From | Republican Patriciate Coalition | To | Debating the The Mandatory Vaccination Act |
Message | The problem being that by one person refusing to be vaccinised the disease survives, and so can continue despite vaccination. Only when all are vaccinated can a disease be defeated. Support |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
