Bill: Modified Retirement Age Act of 2601

Details

Submitted by[?]: Genuine Progress Alliance

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2602

Description[?]:

This bill aims to increase the retirement age from 67 to 70. This shall apply to all forms of employment, except for elective posts in the government, such as President and MPs.

We believe that the right time for our elderly workers to enjoy their work-free life should be at 70. Sixty-seven is still a relatively young age, and most workers in this age still show signs of capability to work. However, those at 70 are not usually capable enough to handle work already. Elective government posts are exempted from this act in order to give way to the people's constitutional right to hold to office and to play an active role in shaping their government.

Messagesince most of the citizens work on the basis of their free will, they are free to leave production process as soon as they feel so. i don't see any point in bureaucratically increasing and regulating the retirement age.

Random fact: RP laws follow the same passing rules as in-game variable laws. Laws that are not of a constitutional nature require a simple majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. Laws that are of a constitutional nature require a 2/3 majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. RP laws may be abolished a simple majority vote this applies to ANY RP law.
