Details
Submitted by[?]: Free Capitalist Coalition
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2117
Description[?]:
The FCC believes that women should be allowed to serve in all positions of the military, from non-combat duties to front line infantry, as long as they can meet the same physical standards required of male soldiers. As such, we propose this act, allowing women to serve in all positions within the armed forces, with one amendment to the basic law. ======================================================= Amendment 1: Any woman who wishes to join the military must be able meet the minimum standards set for males. No special consideration will be given on any basis for any recruit, whether sex, age or disability. |

Message | The problem we have with this is an issue of chivalry. Men serving alongside women will tend to look more after the "damsels in distress" than their combat responsibilities. This could be disasterous. However, we do support the idea of allowing women to serve in combat. Why not ammend this to where women may serve in combat positions but they do so in units segregated from those of the men? It would make for a better fighting force, and women, as well as men would be allowed to bestow the ultimate sacrifice unto our beloved empire. |

Message | While we think our soldiers are trained well enough to keep the mission first in their thoughts, we understand the point of the PMP. We have changed the bill, and while there still may be some contact in battle between members of opposite genders, it should pose less of a problem. In any case, should we ever go to war with an altogether too honorable nation, the women coming to kill them should throw them severely off their stride. |
