Bill: Bill for Economic Stimulation via Tax (BEST)
Details
Submitted by[?]: Green, Liberal and Left
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2604
Description[?]:
The current taxation system is a mess from an economics standpoint. Corporations and luxury goods are taxed too highly, repelling foreign investment into our economy and running the risk of making us economically uncompetitive, and as a result running the risk of rising unemployment. When unemployment rises it is always the poorest who suffer first. We propose that some of the lost revenue is offset by a slight rise in tax on non-luxury goods. |
