Bill: Urgent: Emergency Military Act Part I (Treaty Withdrawal)
Details
Submitted by[?]: The Liberal Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2604
Description[?]:
As you may all know, we have passed a declaratin of neutrality for the wars ashore but that does not mean we are exempt from war. One of the members of NATO already asked for our help and rest assured other will too. Because of this, we feel it is necessary to take precautions. OOC: According to the Atholorcaea Accords (the new way to handle war, approved by the mods), if we have mandatory military service at times of war our forces can be 5 times higher than if we have it t our current level. I hope that is reason enough to approve it. http://www.takeforum.com/particracy/viewtopic.php?t=10016&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&mforum=particracy We also need to withdraw from the treaty in order to be able to change the law. |

Message | We must remain neutral in this fight, its not worth getting thousands or even hundreds and thousands of our soldiers die in a war when our own nation has not been attacked. It seems the only reason the LP want to whitdraw from the treaty is so we can enter war, because if attacked we can pass this quickly (it will take affect the moment half the legislature have voted yes), and therfore this is not needed at the current time |

Message | Treaty withdrawals only pass after the deadline is reached. It is not the same as budgets and taxes. We are doing this for precaution. I already turned down Dolgava and we wll rtain neutrality but that doesn't mean we are exempt from war, someone may attack us. OOC: There is a difference between 1.5 million soldiers and 6 million (without counting reserves). Think about it, it is better to be prepared than not to be and be caught by surprise. It may alos work as a deterrent. |

Message | OOC: By the way, it will take a long time to withdraw from this treaty and then pass the law. By the time we do, we will be without a country to defend. |

Message | Why should anyone have a reason to attack us? And the LLP will never approve of forcing anyone to die in a war in some godforsaken place agains there will OOC: You know we will only be attacked if we care about rping this, and if you state our nations neutrality no one will attack us. |

Message | OOC: Yeah, I know. But then we would look liked spoilers and then that's not a good reputation to carry around, right? I really don't feel like RPing a war now, I don't have the time for it now. I have already expressed our neutrality but there migght be some international pressur on us. I just want to be sure that we can defend ourselves just in case. IC: Reason, we don't have them but someelse might. Forcing to die defending your country, that's insane. If we change the law, we wll make it clear that we will only go to war in the extreme case of an attack an always expressing our neutrality. |

Message | If we make military service mandatory we will force people to die for our country |

Message | And what's wrong with that? If you are not willing to die for your country, you do not deserve to leave in it. |

Message | And lets not forget about the people just think of their children and what they would have to go through and what this will do to our country |

Message | LP, say you are a father of 2 kids, both between 1-3 years. Would you want the government to force you to go to war and a possible death so your kids would grow up fatherless? |

Message | Yes, LLP, I would go to war without thinking about it. Do you want to know why? Because I would prefer to die instead of seeing my kids killed by bombs or by other soldiers. I don't care if I died as long as I knew that my children would not. |
