Message | I would seek middle ground on this one. |

Message | If it seems that middle ground can pass, we will compromise. If it seems like even a middle ground is doomed to failure, we'll go all the way with it, as we believe that natural monopoly utilities should ideally be publicly owned, and if we can't pass the middle ground anyway, we may as well show the voters where we really stand. |

Message | This is being proposed by the same party that wishes to raise taxes because we have a deficit? Yet you plunge is further into economic chaos by restricting the market and paying huge amounts to subsidise the phone bills, a luxury item in my view. |

Message | A telephone is not a luxury item. As mentioned, if you don't have a place to call back, you can't look for a job successfully. It is also needed to call 911 for medical care, and various other "non-luxury" things. Even the other uses, being things most of us take for granted, are things we would prefer not to see others have to do without. |
