We, at UMA, do not believe that cults should be recognised in Mordusia, and we believe there should be legislation against their formation and existance within our borders. These groups exist only to take advantage of our population, and can potentially damage our society and economy. |

Message | What right do we, as a free society, have to regulate the ideals and beliefs of a given minority? The answer is simple really, we do not. This bill is criminal and against everything that a free society stands for. |

Message | This bill is not proposed to eliminate peoples rights, it is for the sake of the people that we are proposing this. Cults do not exist to improve society, they only exist to manipulate innocent and naive victims, take their money and, essentially, their life away from them. They should be criminalised for fraud. ANY religion has the right to exist, but there is a huge difference between religion and a cult. |

Message | The only difference between a religion and a cult is money and power. |
Date | 05:48:40, July 20, 2008 CET | From | Alliance Res Publica (UCF) | To | Debating the UMA: Anti-Cult Policy |
Message | While we disagree with the MAU's arguments, we must stand firm that all religions have a right to exist. While Alliance Res Publica supports the existence of a state religion, we believe membership should be optional. We must encourage faith. In conclusion, we do not trust the government to adequately define what is a cult and what isn't, seeing as how the MAU seems to think things that don't have money and power are cults. We maintain concern that certain groups may be persecuted by the government. We FIRMLY oppose this Bill. |
