Land mines are not a useful tool of war, they are a scourge of the innocent people who are left to rebuild their lives after war. There is no reason the military needs to use an ineffective weapon (hence why there are so many leftover) and therefore they should be banned. |

Message | Land mines are very effective, and useful tool of war. What DSP says is merely anti-war propaganda. |
Date | 09:08:17, July 20, 2008 CET | From | Sekowan Independent Party | To | Debating the DSP.233.2608 |
Message | Landmines are essential in warfare, given the proper placement. Instead of outright banning a useful tool of war, we should instruct our military leaders on how to use them more effectively. Also, we can place "decay" timers on the landmines, which would render them completely inactive after a set period of time... |
Date | 15:36:23, July 20, 2008 CET | From | Normand Pluralist Party | To | Debating the DSP.233.2608 |
Message | We support this law, though if a provision were made saying that Sekowo could use decay-timed or self-destructing land mines, we would support that so long as high quality assurance checks were in place. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
