Bill: Two-Fold Plan - Security
Details
Submitted by[?]: Radical Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2609
Description[?]:
This is my two-fold plan to combat the unrest within the Lirona region arising from clashes between Christian and Islamic groups. The first stage is better enforcement of anti-agitator responses, with a national police force which is better discipled and better trained, with better equipment, and backed up by the military in order to break up dissidence - this is not a violation of civil liberties, but a protection of them from extremism. I call on wings of Parliament to support this additional support for the clearly tense situation our nation is currently in. This is no time to sit back and feel aloof towards the issues of our electorate because of ideological basis. Henry Appleton Internal Affairs Minister |

Message | This is turning us into a military state, this situation can be dealt with by our current law in article 1. Call in the military and deal with the vile muslim thugs, we do not need to militarise our police and turn our country into a military state because of this crisis which will be over if dealt with properly. We this as the RP using a crisis for political gain, we call on parties to oppose this bill. |

Message | Your accusations that we are using this for our own gain are hypocritical. The TNP are attempting to hijack this tragic situation to promote a racist agenda of deportation. The would best work alongside the current government, rather than hinder the process. Henry Appleton Internal Affairs Minister |

Message | We oppose this bill. We will not stand by and offer support as militant members of our government attempt to scare us into supporting the establishment of a police state. Mr. Appleton claims that this is no time to make decisions on an "idealogical basis," but we sternly disagree, as we believe that times of crisis are the greatest opportunity to take actions on an idealogical basis. Our government already has the necessary authority and the necessary policing to respond to any domestic unrest. Rather than increasing our domestic law enforcement presence, perhaps we should fully utilize the presence we have already. Daunte Woodson Chairman Democratic Capitalist Delegation |

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context. |
