Bill: Gesetz zur Aufrechterhaltung der Religionsfreiheit, während die Bewachung von Extremismus
Details
Submitted by[?]: Nationalliberale Partei
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2615
Description[?]:
We do not believe the local government should meddle in the appointment of ministers of religion. People should be free to preach when they like, but the government should be allowed to veto the appointment of extremists! This legislation will allow the Federal Government to veto the appointment of ministers if it deems their work to be a threat to national security. |

Message | We feel that Article 1 should be changed, but certainly not with that. But we do enjoy Article 2; however, we will not support any legislation put forth by the NLP, so put away. |

Message | Also, if you allowed us to have a voluntary state religion of Calvinism, we probably wouldn't have too many extremists ... when the last time there was a Calvinist extremist? |

Message | Wait a tick, isn't you, NLP who wishes to open the borders of the country to allow "refugees" and their to foreign religions in? Isn't the presence of these foreign religions the cause of such extremism this bill is supposed to protect? The way we see it, if the borders stay closed, there is no reason for these bills to be present. |

Message | We have no objection to article 2, but feel it is not within the province of national authority to veto appointments of religious leaders. The FSP supports a separation of church and state, and sees this as an infringement upon the rights of believers and their personal moral choices. We do understand and appreciate the intent of the NLP in this matter, but feel that article 1 leaves too much "wiggle room" and can thus be easily abused by the national government. Perhaps wording that would require proof of national threat before the government can veto the apointment, along with a mandatory open trial, would make the bill worthy of support. |

Message | We've considered this issue at length, and are willing to meet FSP half way: a "national security threat" would have to be invoked to prompt a veto, but there should be no mandatory open trial. That'd just give a platform to the extremists. |

Message | And again the nationalists forego their promised boycott. We are disappointed! |
