Message | Let's make this a compromise. We still need to pay for Defense Contracts and we need our troops to have enough funding. Science and Technology has nothing to do with Defense as others have said. |

Message | no. the current levels are still high even. ooc: the roleplaying of defense contracts is getting a little old. every time anyone trys to say a word about defense spending you keep yelling "the defense contracts" even though your the only player here who was around when those were made. I have no problem with roleplaying, but it is subordinate to the game itself. |

Message | OOC: Well, a defense contract or 300 billion LOD is not going to pay by itself. It was passed in 2599. I don't care I was the only player around at that time. There is proof it exits and I will keep role playing it. IC: The current levels are at an all time low. |

Message | We don't support more defense spending but the large increases in HSS and Education are just too tempting. |

Random quote: "We must show that liberty is not merely one particular value but that it is the source and condition of most moral values. What a free society offers to the individual is much more than what he would be able to do if only he were free. We can therefore not fully appreciate the value of freedom until we know how a society of free men as a whole differs from one in which unfreedom prevails." - Friedrich August Hayek |
