Voting deadline: June 2622
Description[?]:
Given that Dundorf law stipulates that "All adults upon completion of schooling must serve either a term in the military or a lesser paid term of civilian national service, at their option.", the FSP feels that the best use for such military personnel in times of peace is to assist law enforcement. |

Message | No, we believe the current situation is best. The military are not trained to fulfil police duties. |

Message | The FSP is merely considering that currently the government is paying individuals for military service, and yet we are not in a time of war. Since all citizens of Dundorf must go into the military or civil service, we felt that this bill would more effectively utilize tax dollars that are -already- being spent in a more efficient manner. As you will note, the bill does not remove the civilian police force, merely utilizes the military to back up the police, especially in times of peace. Would the VBD have an alternate suggestion? |

Message | We are sorry but there is no deal possible. This is not about receiving a certain return on investment. As we said the military are not trained to back up the police force. They are being called to service to be prepared for times of war. Policing is about something else, would you agree ? |

Message | While we respect the VBD on many issues, here we must disagree. It is exactly about receiving a certain return on investment. We are not asking the military to REPLACE the cilvilian police force, merely allowing them to offer services to the country and learn additional skills in the process. We wonder how many of our civilian police actually came from a military background? So, if the VBD is not even willing to consider the alternative, maybe we can see them offer up a bill that will not force our citizens into paid government service in the near future? As for the Anarchitarians, we ask what is their objection to this bill? |

Message | We understood that you did not mean to replace them, but we wonder about which kind of "services" they could offer. "............how many of our civilian police actually came from a military background?" To us that's irrelevant. There are different competences needed for instance. Every soldier will not be a good copper v.v. "So, if the VBD is not even willing to consider the alternative, maybe we can see them offer up a bill that will not force our citizens into paid government service in the near future?" There is no need for such a bill. Voluntary work is allowed. |
