MessageWe referrer the right honourable member to the discussions from the last time this concept was put before the house. A company reserves the right to use its logo and only that company is permitted to use it and the nation deserves a similar right the flag of Cildania is an internationally recognised symbol of Cildania and for companies to use it without specific government permission or charter brings the nation into disrepute and misrepresentation.

MessageWe refer the gentleman from Christian Action to a dictionary. A 'country' is not a 'company.'

MessageThe position of the PLP was rationalized the last time this issue was brought - in fact, we ourselves proposed this change. The reason was that the Cildanian flag is easily associated with Cildania as a whole, and thus we don't want a faulty set of vacuum cleaners to get associated with our country. The Cildanian flag is a "trademark" of the State, and no private company represents Cildania, so no private company can use the flag. Note that this restriction does not affect private use.

MessageMaybe the last time we did so, but this time the arguments of the no side have won us over.

MessageIs the PLP also concerned with the use of a Cildanian flag in a porno movie?

MessageWe in Action are more concerned of the flags use on potentially dangerous products. Think of the damage to Cildanian exports if a product seemly bearing the endorsement of the nation by the presence of the flag contained dangerous chemicals. [i.e. what happened to china last year.] than its use in the sex industries.

MessageRLP, you will not win us with teasings. We are more morally progressive than you can imagine, and thus the thought of the Cildanian flag on a pornographic movie does not trouble us. If it were for us, the lead star can have it tatooed on his genitals, but our reasoning goes more along the lines of what CA just said: in other countries, the presence of the Cildanian flag is seen as an implicit endorsement of our country, and we don't want the mistakes of private enterprises to contaminate the image of Cildania as a whole.
