Message | “The current Imperial budget was designed centuries ago and finance has, unfortunately, been one of the most neglected areas in Hulstrian politics for many years. However, since assuming office shortly before the last general election, I have written, in conjunction with several economists, this new tax proposal for the Imperial Diet’s consideration. The new tax code will, I believe, serve Greater Hulstria and its people better than the present one. Under this new tax code, the majority of Hulstrians will see a significant decrease in the taxes that they pay. Additionally, Hulstrian corporations will be completely relieved of their corporate tax burden. Despite these things, we will still retain a very large surplus of 92,679,000,000 HCR. The tax cuts will be paid for by a reduction in the current, outrageous surplus level (288,903,527,924 HCR). I urge all of my honourable colleagues in the Imperial Diet to support this vital step in the right direction to ensure that Greater Hulstria remains a modern, prosperous society with a growing economy.” -Nicolaas van der Burgh Minister of Finance DM for Hennersdam Centre |
