Bill: Military Homosexuality Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Tukarali Centrist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2119
Description[?]:
Our laws concerning race'religion in the military is as follows: "Any adult citizen can serve in the military, discrimination for racial or religious reasons is prohibited" This seems very progressive and fair, and yet we have a law that prohibits homosexuals from openly working in the military. This doesn't make sense. We must end this discrimination now! |

Message | We see no reason to discriminate against homosexuals in this way. However, we are opposed to having anyone in the military - or having a standing army . We vote in favour of the Bill, but would prefer no one to join the military. Gay or otherwise. |
Date | 06:54:54, October 11, 2005 CET | From | Freedom Party | To | Debating the Military Homosexuality Act |
Message | Had this party been formed at the time, we would have fully supported this bill. To discriminate based on sexuality is wrong. We do agree with the APP about preferring a lack of military, but we also recognize that some people may wish to join the military and should not be barred for such an insignificant reason. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
