Message | "This is ridiculous! This effectively translates into massive tax increases for the vast majority of Hulstrians. Additionally, it will dramatically decrease the cash flow, which will have negative effects across the economy of Greater Hulstria. Shame on the new Finance Minister for proposing such a half-baked, dangerous proposal. As the former Minister of Finance, I must express my sincere fear for the fate of the Hulstrian economy should this monstrosity be passed." -Nicolaas van der Burgh DM for Hennersdam Centre HNP Spokesman for Finance |

Message | We find it quite amusing that the maths of van der Burgh lacks to such a great extent that they cannot work out that overall this results in a tax cut for the vast majority of the population, the entire 0 to 30,000 bracket, which makes up the vast majority of our population, and helps them live lives where they struggle on tight taxes ontop of their already poor financial situation. The loosers in this are the rich, who do not need the tax advantages of the old system. |

Message | "I have created a faux budget (http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=216299) to illustrate how wrong my honourable colleague from the Patriciate Coalition is. This 'budget' uses the same brackets as is proposed under this budget. Even considering the variations in income, I believe that this adquately illustrates that this proposal would result in a tax increase for most of the population, including the bulk of the middle-class." -Nicolaas van der Burgh DM for Hennersdam Centre HNP Spokesman for Finance |

Message | Then you have calculated it wrong... I'm sorry, but the amount (in 1,000,000,000s) of revenue from each section clearly illustrates our point. In the 0-29,999 section it is in the 700s, in the 30,000+ section it is in the 500s. Only the latter has suffered a tax increace. |

Message | "The latter includes the bulk of our middle-class, professionals, and other highly trained persons. I remain unsure about the actual demographics of the tax proposals, but I will certainly look into the honourable gentleman's claims. However, that does not negate my other concerns about this proposal and therefore I must continue to urge my honourable colleagues in the Imperial Diet to oppose it." -Nicolaas van der Burgh DM for Hennersdam Centre HNP Spokesman for Finance |

Message | Actually the latter would largly consist of the upper middle class, consisting of the well educated at higher level, including busnessmen, executives and higher ranked professional workers. The lower middle class is better described as being in the 20,000-30,000 bracket, which has had a minor cut, but a cut none the less. The main drive of this reform is to raise the tax pressures on the lower class, who, as lower payed workers, already suffere financial difficulties without the addition of stringent taxes. The upper middle class are much more able to bear these cuts, and would still earn far more then the middle class. |

Message | "I would differ with your assessment of our middle-class. When I said 'middle-class', I used it in the common sense of the word, i.e. 'white-collar' workers with a large degree of financial independence. You seem to be including 'blue-collar' workers into the definition of 'middle-class'. Additionally, you must concede that those in the brackets which you are proposing major tax increases constitute the majority of our investor community. Restricting the cash flow of investors, who by definition spur economic growth, will have negative effects across the economy. I would also question my honourable friend's frivolous attitude in describing those who would have over half of their paycheques taken by the government under this proposal." -Nicolaas van der Burgh DM for Hennersdam Centre HNP Spokesman for Finance |

Message | Of our investor community yes, of our population no. I have in mind here the best necessary solution to help thise in need of financial aid. This is why in the budget there is a large increace in the finance budget, to halt the recession which may follow if this change were followed alone. |
