Old value:: Adult individuals may own guns under strict license conditions.
Current: Adult individuals may not own firearms unless professionally required.
Proposed: Individuals are allowed to own firearms as long as they do not have a history of dangerous mental illness or a violent criminality.
Article 2
Proposal[?] to change The weapons used by police forces.
Old value:: Police officers may only carry non-lethal weapons apart from specially trained firearms units.
Current: Police officers may only carry non-lethal weapons.
Proposed: Police officers may only carry standard firearms apart from specially trained firearms units.

Message | Despite the fact that the SIP originated the legislature for police officers, requiring that they receive training in lethal firearm usage before wielding said firearms, we will support this bill. We agree with the civilian firearm legislation, and the police firearm legislation can work so long as we ensure proper training of all officers of the law. |
