Bill: Religious Recognition Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: We Say So! Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2637

Description[?]:

WHILST accepting that it is not the business of the government to enforce morals onto its citizenry, whilst also accepting that a large minority of citizens of this Nation receive moral guidance from other aspects of their lives, the government will reintroduce the policy of accepting Hobaism and the Hobrazian Orthodox Church as joint State Religion.
In so doing, these religions provide a historical link with our nations past and also provide a potential moral future for our nation.
However, whilst accepting the historical significance of reintroducing the co-State Religions, the government also accepts that not all peoples are willing to follow a deity(ies) and, as such, there will be no mandatory requirement for citizens be a member of either religion.

Messageooc: http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Hobaism Was, for a time, state religion of Darnussia and they still have a sizeable minority. It is, primarily, a native Hobrazian religion, although the religion isn't named after the country.

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost.

Random quote: "Soldiers are not the enemies of the movement. They're potential allies. They're more than that. Soldiers are the only people in America who are paying a stiff price for this war. Everybody else profits. Soldiers are the ones losing their lives, losing friends, having their lives disrupted. The real victims of American imperialism are its soldiers." - Fred Gardner
