Bill: Healthcare Reform Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Workers Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2640

Description[?]:

"Health care in our great nation ranks among the best in the world. However, there is still room for improvement. I am proposing two revisions to our current policy:

I. Government-provided health care must be made free for all citizens. Too often the poor of Darvik suffer disproportionately because they can't afford proper care. The government should foot the bill, because a healthy populace leads to a healthy economy. Thus, it is in the best interests of both the people and the government.

II. Privately-provided health care must be regulated to ensure quality standards and patient safety. Those who wish to utilize private clinics must be held to the same standards as those who don't. Private clinics are good, but they can't be allowed to bend rules or circumvent regulations.

I speak for the Socialist Workers Party, and all the people of Darvik, when I say that these two proposals are necessary and just. Please support us in passing this landmark bill."

--- Kurt Beimer, Minister of Health and Social Services
