Message | Unemployment remains the same, our GDP is suffering. Is this the appropriate step to take? Our economy is in a free fall thank to the Conservatives idea that cutting taxes for corporations helps the people. All of that money only goes to the pockets of big business owners, not to the people. |

Message | Clearly the liberals have no idea what GDP is. |

Message | Yes, we know what it is. That's why we can see that this is not going to help. OOC: The concept of GDP is not simple. I am sure you know it and I am also sure that you know it doesn't matter what economic side you favour, Keynesian economics or supply-side, the numbers don't lie. As far as this game goes, the GDP here is totally different, I am sure you also know that. Since it doesn't take into account many aspects of the economy as in the real world, it cannot be argued the same way. I hope you understand that I am arguing from a GDP in-game point of view, not from a real world perspective. Does that kind of explains what I meant? |

Message | ooc: agreed, however your pointing the finger at my party for this without a ligit cause imo. |

Message | OOC: I said Conservatives and that goes for every Conservative in the country. You (the Conservatives) have had the majority in the Senate for a long time. Who else can I point a finger at? Kind of logical. Besides, it is a simple political attack, may be correct or incorrect. Anyways, changing the subject a little bit. Since you are apparently good with simulators and things of that sort, wouldn't it be a good idea to have kind of a stock market system based on the GDP? |

Message | Since the fundamentals of the economy cannot be agreed upon, I'm unsure how a stock market could possibly be run. |
Date | 02:18:40, October 02, 2008 CET | From | The Liberal Party | To | Debating the Corporate Tax Elimination Act |
Message | OOC: Well, as far as the economy part is concerned, only three aspects are taken into consideration into the GDP: Consumption, Government Spending, and Investments. We can work with consumption and Investments to create a stock market simulation. Of course, drastic governmetn cuts in spending would also have an influence. I am just throwing the idea out there, it doesn't mean that it is actually going to work out. |
Date | 02:21:20, October 02, 2008 CET | From | United Republics Party | To | Debating the Corporate Tax Elimination Act |
Message | The Liberals only consider the spending aspect of the budget, but the tax side is also important. Failure to take this into account would just turn a stock market into Liberal propoganda. |
Date | 17:48:46, October 02, 2008 CET | From | The Liberal Party | To | Debating the Corporate Tax Elimination Act |
Message | OOC: I would appreciate if you just shut up and stop writing your non-sense. We are throwing ideas out there, no need to attack me. Act like an adult, if you are one. |
