MessageThe job market is based on the free and consenting contractual agreement between two individuals. In order for a contract to be fair and just, both parties must have equal say. If one party, in this case the worker, is allowed to demand whatever terms they wish, and the other party, in this case the employer, is unable to fight back, this means that the situation is neither fair nor just.

We oppose.

MessageFRP: People are more important than employers. After all, people elect us to this body, not corporations. We should serve the constituents and not be beholden to this orgy of free dealing.

MessageWe have to agree with the FRP here. The people have rights, therefore owners of businesses should have the right to run their business however they see fit.

MessageThere is a serious contradiction in the arguments of the opposers of this bill: they believe its up to employers and workers to negotiate over working' conditions, but you will in practice give workers the impossibility to go on strike, since they will be fired for it... This bill encourages employers to listen more carefully to the demands of workers, and to implicate Trade Unions in the decisions of the company. Union members have better working conditions, beter wages, and thus creates much more buying power for workers so that companies can sell them their products.

MessageWorkers can go on strike and are not necessarily going to get fired for it. This bill does not encourage employers to listen, it forces them to give in to their employees. If employees go on strike, the employer has no choice but to give in to their demands as he has no option to fire them. This will be damaging to the profits of organisations, which affects our economic growth.

Business, along with people, should not be restricted except in the case that it is absolutely vital. This is not one of those cases, in the eyes of the PIL.

MessageIf people go on strike, they don't get payed. So strikes never last longer then needed...

MessageThe right to strike is ALWAYS abused. We denounce the LSP as supporters of the unions, against non-unionized workers and employers. Employers have rights as well. Heck, they are the ones buying the employees' service. if the employers do not wish to buy the employees' service anymore, than that is their choice, their right.

MessageWe support tentatively, however, feel that a compromise would be much better.
