This bill seeks to subject all advertising to certain basic standards. All advertising must be truthful, and avoid falsehoods, and not purposefully attempt to deceive an audience either directly or through ommission of important details. Sources of information or facts displayed should be provided during or after the advertisement. This bill also recognises that conscious consumer choice is a prerequisite for a functioning economy, and so outlaws subliminal messaging and advertising. |
