Message | The nuclear one would violate the declaration of peace, which says we will not attack first. |

Message | The nuclear one doesnt have to violate the declaration of peace. Together, it would mean that we dont have to wait for someone to nuke us before we hit them. We just have to wait for them to attack us. Then we would be able to do whatever, once they hit us with anything. |

Message | wouldn't that value be "we will not use nuclear weapons unless attacked" rather than "The nation reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in warfare for any reason"? That value sounds like first strike authorization. Does a value exist for "only in self-defence"? It probably should, if it doesn't. |

Message | The current law only allows us to use them if we are nuked. The proposed law here would allow us to use them for any reason. However, "Declaration of Peace" would also be in effect, meaning that we can only use them if we are attacked. Both laws affect the hypothetical situation. |

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass. |
