Message | We appreciate the compromise and support all provisions. We especially appreciate that the RFP has supported nationalization of the power generation and supply infrastructure. This has been a project of the SPoK for years. |

Message | How can a country which helps its citizens and punishes profiteering and usury be considered a failure by someone who has the public interest and the good of ALL people in the country as their chief object? After all, the good of the society outweighs the good of the individual, and we in government should never be complicit in the schemes of the individuals which seek to profit off the need of every citizen. We are here to do the public's business, not private interests who think it is justifiable, nay conscionable to profit off the supply of energy, deforest Kalistan in the name of their profits, pollute the environment because it hurts their profit margin too much to do things cleanly, or deny the state the ability to pay for social programs because they think they should be able to evade taxes. Unless, of course, you are the party only of those who will be injured by these sorts of laws. In that case, I understand your concern, but remind you that it is not ethically or morally correct to vote against just legislation, even if your Party's primary donors will be hurt by justice. This is alright though; those same interests have benefitted far too long and it is finally time they lose the privilege of operating in Kalistan. Those that want to stay need to pony up some dough to pay for the privilege that not everyone has the will or means to enjoy. |

Message | Businesses in Kalistan have advantages that businesses elsewhere do not. Despite the new regulations and fees, they will still enjoy these advantages. |

Message | Perhaps all of us aren't dirty collectivist bastards. This self righteous feel good populist bullshit, help the poor, corporations are evil, is ridiculous. There is nothing moral or just about altruism at the point of a gun. Pay your taxes or lose your liberty. Become too successful and like the "crab bucket theory" we will pull you back down. Large corrupt governments which prefer collectivism versus individualism, state worshiping patriotism versus free thinking, irrational socialism versus capitalism with oversight and consumer protections, are doomed to fail. |

Message | The economy exsists for the benefit of society. It uses society's structure to provide it the ability to exist. Without society there is no such thing as the economy, and no need for an organized one. It someone wants benefits, they pay for them, citizens as well as companies. Period. no populism, no feel good. If businesses want to play in Kalistan, they pay. If they want to be successful, they pay more. Moderate success is still success, and you're godamned right I intend to pull the rich back down if they get too rich. Nobody has a right to be rich, but all have the right to enjoy a good life, and all have the equal right to enjoy the benefits of living in this society. |
Date | 10:12:02, December 08, 2008 CET | From | Libertarian Democrats | To | Debating the Renationalization Compromise Bill |
Message | The economy exists for the benefit of individuals, through entrepreneurship. If someone wants benefits, they work for them, or seek charity. Companies are only obligated to help others in so far as it helps themselves, higher benefits and pay for better wokers, etc. If businesses have to pay to play in Kalistan than they will move to Wantuni or somewhere else. Nobody has the right to be rich? Nobody has the right to reap the rewards of their success? I guess inferior men will always secretly envy men of superior intellect and ability, but despise their successes. |
