Bill: Indentification Card Policy
Details
Submitted by[?]: Junker Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2123
Description[?]:
Currently, the policy stands that all citizens are issued an indentification card but are not required to carry it with them at all times. This defeats the purpose of having an identification card at all. Imagine the alcohol sales and cigarette sales to those under eighteen, and imagine the blue collar criminals that will be able to get away with speeding, theft, et cetera, merely because they weren't forced to carry an indetification card [implying that there's no way to identify who they are, and consequently, no way to put in their record, or even give them the ticket or arrest]. This ludicrous policy has to be turned around to make Aldegar a much safer neighborhood to live in. We have made leaps and bounds in the area of public beautification, especially with the construction of all those Olympic facilities. We have ardously treaded past our scientific dark ages by creating a government funded space exploration agency. This is not time to stop the improvement of our Republic, and not only make it one of the most beautiful countries around, one of the most advance countries around, but also one of the safest around. This does suggest more government control, for it's already implied by the fact that you have to have to an indentity card. The problem is that we can't enforce anything. So we take a cogent law and turn it into something rediculous. This must be solved, so please, help the Junker Party help make Aldegar a world leader in solving crime. |

Message | We are not convinced that identity cards should exist at all, but as long as they do, we believe that carrying them should be optional and not mandatory. |
Date | 21:19:06, October 07, 2005 CET | From | Junker Party | To | Debating the Indentification Card Policy |
Message | But what evidence can you bring to support your view? This is just being purely stubborn, when it' s obvious that the indentification card, if it exists, which it should, should be carried at all times, since it is a VITAL part of ANY countries security and legal system. |

Message | Well, no, that's far from obvious. That are quite a lot of countries that have no ID cards, and the fact of having them has never prevented terrorism. |

Message | His Grace is always losing his identity card... Percy Waterman (Personal Secretary to the Grand Duke of Aldegar) |
