Bill: Mil.0005.2677

Details

Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2681

Description[?]:

My fellow representatives, as it's been made very clear in recent years Sekowo is not as safe as we once were,
especially from rogue regimes such as Jeltaria.

Therefore we propose starting a twelve year military upgrade, split into three four year periods, in which each of the
three branches of the military will be upgraded.

This program shall use the collective money alloted to the Department of Defence each year over a period of four
years (300 billion).

MessageCP moves that the focus of new military equipment be defence related and that priority to Sekowan, the Dovani contractors be given.

MessageI can't think of a time when we bought from non-Sekowan or non-Dovanian sources, so it can be assumed that the majority of it is from such.

As for space, well space systems are split between the Missile Defence System and the Air Force.
Since we don't really rely as heavily on space based systems I think, for the time being having space related systems between the aforementioned two is fine.

MessageOOC: In terms of new equipment, there isn't much that has changed in the past few months since our last purchases. Shall we make a move toward unmanned vehicles and/or electric vehicles?

I was thinking primarily of just bulking up our inventory overall.

Though electric vehicles and the incorporation of more unmanned and teleoperated systems is a good idea.

MessageWhat about selling our old equipment to a neighbouring nations, party militias or to the rest of the Commonwealth? Would reduce the effect these purchases would have on the current military system.

MessageWell there are'nt alot of people we could sell it to, hell I'm trying to keep Lourenne from going to war with us (some idiots who did'nt bother reading history are in charge).

As for party militias, well mine and MSMP's are the only ones left, and we both own defence companies, so they're essentially as powerful as a small military as is.

Now, I suppose some could be sold off to Shiratoku, since it is allowed it's own military, but overall the military is the military of the entire commonwealth.

Honestly I'm looking at increasing our overall numbers, my goal is a 4,000 unit Air Force and 3,000 ship navy.

MessageCP asks the DSP where are we going to find the military personnel to man these units with their continuous passive approach to military recruitment?

OOC: At the money we are willing to spend, 4k air force (last upgrade: 150B spent for 1k units) is not realistic. In terms of navy, we could always purchase more little boats. We are nearly at 3k but not in big boats.

Well we actually need less than 1,000 more air units since we currently have 3,140 aircraft.

Whatever. As long as I said my part of it being unrealistic. I wouldn't fly a 120 year old plane. I wouldn't expect to live through the take-off.
So, are you going to devise the plan, let MSMP do it as Minister of Defence, or shall we split it? I wouldn't mind doing one or two of them (especially army).

Well my main area of interest is the Air Force, MSMP and me both do the Navy, so the Army is left to you.
