Bill: Cabinet discussion

Details

Submitted by[?]: Union of Democratic Socialists

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2683

Description[?]:

We at the UDS realise we've created some animosity with regards to the cabinet of United Jakania, but the lopsided cabinet we proposed was due to frustration at the lack of prior discussion when parties were proposing cabinets. We ask the other parties of this great nation to forgive this foolish action and embrace a cabinet including all parties represented in the legislature.

Oh, and feel free to list what your preferred positions would be in such a cabinet. Or alternatively tell us to shove it.

MessagePersonally we'd be looking for internal affairs/finance and health and social services, perhaps with environment and tourism thrown in.

MessageThe ones we care about, in order of importance, are:
Justice
Education and Culture
Science and Technology
Infrastructure and Transport
Defense

The SLP, of course, very strongly desires the Science and Technology spot.

We will oppose any lineup that gives us Foreign Affairs.

Oh, and I wouldn't call the previous problems animosity. Although forceful it was intended as a reminder that all should be considered as the tides do shift.

We certainly never expected the current cabinet to last this long and are surprised that it has.

MessagePFM is correct: as long as we have Science and Technology, we're basically all set. We would rather not wind up with too many fewer positions than we currently have, but we are willing to give up a couple for the sake of a more fair and equitable Cabinet.

We also do like to uphold the tradition of giving the Chancellor spot to either the largest party, or the largest party that doesn't already have the Supreme Governor.

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost.
