Description[?]:
The Poet Revolution believes that our nation's military policy needs reform. The bill is proposed with the following rationale: Article 1: Chemical and biological warfare is a particularly touchy subject because of the consequences that follow after an attack of such nature. The Revolution believes that it should not be the Republic who unleashes this power upon its fellow man. However, if such an attack were to take place against our own citizens, and such a retaliation were necessary, then and only then would the use of chemical or biological weapons be used. Article 2: Competition is important for the advancement of research and development in all fields. Because of the necessity of quick advancement to defense innovation, this industry should be not only privately owned, but also in part funded by the organization that will be far be its biggest customer: the government. Article 3: A separation between the civilian police force and the military is necessary and important. The Revolution understands that the military was created as a means of defense from foreign aggression, but in times of serious emergency or crisis the civilian military may not be enough. In these times, and only in these times, should the military intervene, for the good of the Republic and her citizens. Article 4: As with chemical and biological warfare, nuclear warfare is a subject with severe consequences. Because of the way that nuclear attacks affect both the current and future conditions of the target, nuclear weapons should be the Republic's final choice, a last ditch effort to ensure the victory and survival of her citizens. |

Message | We are opposed to articles II, III, and IV. Particularly Articles III and IV. The only reason we would see fit to use nuclear weapons is in retaliation to another nuclear or biological attack. We have already elaborated on our concerns with article III in a separate bill.
