Message | 3 years is a balance between regular elections and legislative efficiency. There's no reason to reduce the number of seats. |

Message | Though ALP is in approval of the idea to revise the format of the legislature, we believe that: 1) There should be an odd number of seats in our legislative assembly which could negate the possibility of a tie when it comes to voting and the like. However, we do agree on the fact that the number of seats should be lessened. There are too many politicians knowing that there are only about 2 parties dominating the assembly and 4 parties all in all. 2) 50 months is too long. Three and a half years is our suggested option. As of now, we do prefer the established 3 years rather than the proposed 4 years and 2 months. Also, 50 months is quite unstable due to the fact that there would be no definite election date. It would not occur in one permanent month, rather it would vary every election, thus increasing the chance of confusion. As for now, our vote is No. |
