* It is proposed that the Government nationalise the greater part of those industries essential to national security: coal, steel, chemicals. The government is to become a large or majority stakeholder, but the current owners of the industries are to continue to manage them in co-operation with Trade Unions.

* Greater regulation on the energy industry is to be introduced, to bring this in line with other policies.

* The government is to ban any form of discrimination in employement.
