This bill aims to create a more smoke-free environment, for the comfort of the citizens of our country. It will also hopefully help to reduce the number of smokers in our society and make sure that public areas are not full of smoke and unpleasant to visit. Therefore, this bill hopes to increase the popularity of public places such as pubs and bars. This bill was defeated the last time it was proposed but hopefully everyone has had time to think over their decisions and realised this is what is best for our nation. |

Current: Smoking is legal everywhere, at the discretion of the property owner, but is illegal in government-owned buildings.
Proposed: Smoking is legal outdoors and in private homes and clubs, but illegal indoors in all places of employment.

Message | I think that this would do well as the first step in a genoral decrease in the ammount of smoking, and would also reduce the ammount of unwilling passive smoking by a large ammount. However in the future I think that we should expand upon this law, and help people to stop smoking with government programs and help areas. |
