Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

"Guns don't kill people, people do." Yeah, right.
It is crazy that private citizens are allowed to freely purchase guns and explosives. The sale of such things must be regulated.

MessageThe Erudites recognize that improper use of fireworks poses a danger to the community at large. However, we feel that ownership of firearms and weaponry is important to allow the citizenry to protect themselves. Across the history of the world, the oppressed have systematically had their ability to arm themselves against corrupt and opressive governments removed. And universally, democratic peoples have declared that governments that prevent the people from being able to protect themselves are unjust.

This, the Erudites will not approve of this bill until article 2 is modified to allow more general usage of guns. We will accept a proposal that requires licensing in order to own a gun.

MessageOOC: Those countries in RL which allow free ownership of guns have much higher gun murder rates than those which restrict gun ownership or ban most guns altogether. (Yes, Canada is an exception, but all rules need an exception.)

MessageThe Satanic Republican Party: "Guns don't kill people, people do." That's true. Have you ever seen a gun kill someone without someone pulling the trigger. I think not.

We would support tougher punishments for criminals that used/possessed a gun while commiting any crime, but we don't support the ban on guns.

If someone hurts themselves using fireworks, they will learn not to be to so stupid next time. If they hurt themselves again, then clearly they deserve what they got. If another person gets hurt by someone else's fireworks, they will surely sue the other person responsible for the damage and get a outrageous reward.

We would support tougher punishments for criminals that harm and/or damaged people and property while using fireworks, but we don't support the ban on fireworks.

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".
