Message | We oppose. This measure is uncharitable and will do our international reputation no good. |
Date | 00:03:27, October 14, 2005 CET | From | United Farmers of Tukarali | To | Debating the Foreign Aid Bill of 2124 |
Message | We agree. The money can be better spent here, either on improved rural infrastructure or tax cuts. |
Date | 10:21:39, October 14, 2005 CET | From | Social Dynamist Party | To | Debating the Foreign Aid Bill of 2124 |
Message | The amount spent on aid is miniscule - 0.5% of GDP, to get rid of it would have a huge effect on many of the most needy in the world, while the so-called-saving for Tukarali would be negligible. |

Message | But as the UFT has said, we can put that amount to fixing our country. Therefor, it is not negligible. |

Message | We're not too sure now. SDP makes a good point about our country's reputation. It is useful to always have an ally for "just in case." |

Message | That sort of sum would still be negligible when spent on 'fixing' Tukarali. That tiny fraction of GDP can do far, far more good elsewhere: good which, if you want to be cynical about it, will return to us firstly through better respect in the world and secondly through a stronger world economy due to fewer unproductive countries. |

Random fact: Moderation will not approve a Cultural Protocol request within the first 48 hours of it being requested. This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so. Moderation may be approached for advice on a proposed change, but any advice proffered should always be understood under the provisio that no final decision will be made until at least 48 hours after the request has been formally submitted for approval. |
