Message | Basically, while you are trying to make your move your opponent can attack you. Anybody who messes up the board loses. Each player would be given 5 seconds unopposed to make their move, but the rest of the time they will be fighting. Oh yeah, and if you are knocked out then you obviously lose. |

Message | I was thinking you might make it into a sort of battle-strategy game where the outcome of a move isn't predetermined. Maybe so you would have a life-size board, and the pieces would be actual people - your team mates. When a piece attacks another piece, they would have to literally force the other player out of the square to capture them. And perhaps we could build in some mechanism of ocassional retreats and supported defenses and such. I don't know. The master strategist of the team would play as the king, who would have to issue orders from on the field. They wouldn't have an overhead view of the opponents' positions, and would have to rely on their advance pieces to serve as scouts to see things from different angles and relay that information back to them. |

Message | I'm really tempted to try setting up a match. I'd need a lot of people for a full game though. And I figured out how assisted attacks and defenses would work. So the way any attack would work is when you moved a piece to a square occupied by an opposing piece, you would have essentially a sumo wrestling sort of fight to see who got pushed out of the square first. Now if this fight was taking place in a square that was next to other occupied squares, the occupants of those squares could stand at the edge of their square and try to help keep their guy in and help get the opponent out. This is the greatest national sport ever. |
