MessageWe oppose. If people are allowed to carry guns, they should do so openly. Undercover police should probably not be legally armed - if the weapon is found, won't it send alarm signals to his targets?

MessageSurely plain clothes police officers should be given the same opportunity to protect themselves as criminals?

MessageWe still disagree. It puts the public at risk, and it can actually increase the risk to the police officer. Undercover police are not supposed to get themselves into such situations, and they are supposed to be covered and backed up.

Now, as to whether undercover police officers engage in illegal acts in order to 'keep in' with their targets, and whether that has a blind eye turned to it is an operational matter, not a political one.
