Bill: OOC: Senate Wardens

Details

Submitted by[?]: Federal Independent Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 3970

Description[?]:

OOC: In the spirit of trying to preserve and recall all of the Federal Republic's history, this is an effort to compile all of the Heads of Government (Senate Wardens mostly) in the country's history. This will be slightly challenging as they are not recorded, but I can recall a lot of them.

Originally, the Federal Republic was founded with the Head of Government being known as the "Elite Warden". This office lasted only a few years as the spirit of grassroots democracy and further state overhaul by the nation's founder, Fr. Bailen, took place.

The Senate Wardenship was created by Fr. Bailen and Xzarin Catholic Party Minority Leader Dennis Kucik as a seat that would play the role of lead representative for the administration to the Senate, along with being the ranking officer within the Senate, and utilizing the role of the Vice Supreme Presidency. It was created as a way for parties to be bi-partisan and combine Supreme Presidential slates for a winning combination of multiple ideologies.

During a radically different time began in the 70s, the Federal Republic witnessed a fight over which ideology dominated the face of the nation took place between conservatives, nationalists, and communists. In this time of tumultuous politics, old regime and traditionalists had seemed to dissolve or fallen out of favor. The Labour Party of Solentia introduced legislation to rename the Head of Government and was well received with the exception of two parties. With this new brand of parties and individuals swept into power, the Senate Wardenship was swept out in favor of the seemingly blasé title "Prime Minister".

1st | Amanda Beuachamp

-
6th | Thiris Landson
Tenure | 2526 - Until Office Dissolved (2529)
Party | Federal Independent Party

There was a period where Solentia held a system without a Head of Government. In 2529, the Conservative & Morality Party introduced "The Grand Amalgamation part 1: Fusion of Powers Act 2529" which effectively combined the powers of the Supreme President with the Prime Minister, leaving only the Supreme President standing. Despite protest from the only remaining traditionalist party in the nation, the bill passed by a strong margin and led the country into its first years without a Head of Government.
The Head of Government was reestablished in 2535 when the Social Democratic Party proposed legislation titled "Head of Government Bill". The new Head of Government was known once again as Prime Minister.

- Prime Minister (Reinstated) | 2536 - 2555 -

7th | Jack Carver
Tenure | 2536 - 2550
Party | Independent Party
-
8th | Harold Belisarius
Tenure | 2550 - Until Office Dissolved (2555)
Party | Solentian Radical Nationalist Party

With the office of the Prime Minister being dissolved in 2555, the Senate Wardenship retook its place in Solentian politics. After being lost from Solentia's system for exactly 80 years, the traditionalist Solentian Heritage Coalition led the way in placing a series of original offices back into power. Through legislation proposed by then Conservative Party of Solentia, the "Traditionalist Bill of 2555" was passed into law. This marked a period of the nation turning back power into the hands of the traditionalist think tank and way of government.
The current title is Senate Warden and has not seen a change since its placement in 2555. This is largely due to the centralization of power in the hands of traditionalist regimes, which have seen solid electoral support over the years.
