Bill: Employees' Rights Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Democratic Party of Luthori
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2735
Description[?]:
These three articles point out ways in which our Government is putting unnecessary regulation on society. In a free market, it is up to individual businesses to decide how their company operates - there should be no restrictions on how they are run or who runs them. Similarly, in a libertarian free market society, all workers should have the right to strike. There is absolutely no reason for the Government to regulate against this. At the same time, businesses must have the right to fire these workers who strike, if they choose to do so. |

Message | "The Geharon Conservatives oppose this act, strikers can be fired anyway, and this legislation is unnecessary in our opinion, furthermore, so-called Democratic Workers Councils are nothing but fronts for communism, a vile ideology that we must fight. For the free market to prevail, we must oppose this bill." -Sir Dale Primo, League VIcemaster, head of the Geharon COnservatives "The Homeland Libertarians minority faction in the League support this bill as an advancement of liberty, however, due to our party majority, the League will undoubtebly oppose the act." -Isaac Stevenson, League Governor, head of the Homeland Libertarians |

Message | Under our current laws, employees who choose to strike can be arrested and detained by police. This is completely unnecessary and violates the rights of our citizens. If an employer chooses to fire his striking employees, he is free to do so, but putting them in jail does absolutely nothing except take away rights from our citizens which they deserve to have. Again, as per our Anti Military Discrimination Act, we are disappointed but not at all surprised that the CIL will continue to support the violation of civil rights. -LDP Chairman Jonathon Churchwood |

Message | "We do not believe prison to be a very constructive solution for such non-violent criminals, striking employees would simply be fined we believe." -His Grace, Franz Jackson, 2nd Duke of Geharon |

Message | Perhaps the CIL would like to explain to us all why it is the responsibility of the police or the government to punish employees who are poor workers? Employers are the ones in charge of these employees and they should be the only ones who hand out punishments to them. I offer my sympathy to the members of the Homeland Libertarians who are seemingly ignored by their fascist, authoritarian counterparts. -LDP Chairman Jonathon Churchwood |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
