Bill: Kanjoran Civil Defense Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Parti Populiste Nationale de Kanjor
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2741
Description[?]:
The MRN is appalled at the fact that the hands of the military are tied by needless regulation that prevents them from doing their utmost to protect the nation and its citizens. Furthermore, the MRN finds that the provision of rights for enemy combatants sends a message not only to the military, but to the citizens of the nation: one of defeatism and relativism. In addition, the MRN finds that the opportunity to serve in some sort of national service draws citizens away from the military, where they will learn not only the practical virtue of discipline, but pride in the power of their military, and appreciation of those who defend Kanjor. It is, in the opinion of the MRN, now time to take more extreme measures to ensure the safety of the nation not only internationally, but domestically, and to work towards instilling a greater sense of national pride in every citizen by freeing the military from needless domestic regulation that hampers its ability to enforce law and order alongside the police, ties its hands in the containment and interrogation of enemy combatants, and allows citizens to by-pass it in favour of tasks that do not teach them the same virtues that a stint in our military could. |

Random quote: "In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller |
