Bill: Budget proposal of October 2752

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Capitalist Delegation

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2757

Description[?]:

Our defense spending is disgustingly bloated-- we spend billions upon billions in TPD that could be spent in more useful Ministries or simply returned back into the pockets of those who need them. The fact that 7 times more is being spent on defense to defend against enemies we do not have than is being spent on domestic justice is simply unacceptable. Also, our salary for the head of state is far, far, too high. Although his or her job is difficult, and we must pay him or her a respectable amount, we must balance such a need with fairness to the taxpayer. I have proposed minor cuts in a few other less essential ministries as well as substantial increases in important ones such as science, health, and education.

Furthermore, the Finance Ministry intends to pair this massive spending cut with an even larger tax cut.

MessageThe Jewish Defense League worked hard with Mr. Dalton to create both the Budget and Taxes. We agreed to use our surplus for the benefit of the people of Telamon. We gave money back to the citizens of Telamon, and increased Federal Spending on projects to increase safety, education and general balance of life. We hope that the Democratic Capitalist Delegation would include us in forming this Budget as we did with them before.

MessageThe budget talks are very open, Mr. Cohen, hence this bill remains in the debate phase. We can't very well negotiate though if you offer up no alternatives.

MessageWe agree with many of these changes. However, we believe that the cuts to our Ministry of Defense are far too drastic. A proper defense is necessary in an unstable world within which we live.
