Bill: Cabinet Proposal of August 2127

Details

Submitted by[?]: Majatran Socialist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2128

Description[?]:

I find it ridiculous that we have not had a new cabinet since 2020 (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong). 3 elections have passed since this time, and the coalition was totally unworkable. The LHR's concerns over our 'human rights abuse' should not be as important seeing as we are bound by several treaties so you have nothing to fear from our 'extreme' policies. We feel we have a good understanding with the UPU in relation to foreign policy and as such would be happy for them to be Foreign Minister.

MessageSeems fair enough. I'm voting yes, and I urge the rest of the LHR to as well.

MessageNow that the Majelis has managed to entrench basic human rights in binding treaties, the UPU's concerns over human rights protections are reduced. Should the Ba'athists attempt to destroy basic human rights, we will call for a new cabinet, but the distribution of portfolios seems eminently fair. We will stand alongside our friends in the other parties forming the League for Human Rights, and support this cabinet.

Random fact: Don't vote yes on a cabinet coalition that doesn't give you the power that you deserve.
