Message | More than one-fifth of Imperial Diet seats are to be vacant following the break-up of the FKP. This Diet is very early in its term, therefore the CLA believes that new elections should be held. OOC: To be brought to a vote once the FKP is mod-inactivated. |

Message | We just had an election and the CLA knows the seats left over from the FKP will most likely go to them, this is nothing but a stunt to gain even more seats. There are bills on the floor are being voted on and no one has yet to get any visibility out of them. 2 years is not a long time. |

Message | Plus, it is only going to be us three. We don't have 8 parties anymore, it just seems illogical to call for a special election this early. There is no unfair advantage or a massive supermajority. |

Message | By the FAP's line of reasoning, then it understands that the voters gave a sizable majority to parties opposite to the FAP. The FAP's opposition to an early election is nothing but a stunt. No one can say with any certainty what the results of the next election will look like, but the voters should be given the chance to elect a new full Diet. In absolute terms 2 years may not be a long time, but as the term of elected office is only 3 years it means that 2/3rds of the session of this Diet will occur with one-fifth of seats vacant and an artificial majority. The FAP pulled this the last time the CLA requested an early election, but gave the excuse of wanting to wait for the 100 year anniversary of the first Governor-General election; such a milestone does not present itself now. If there is no new election due to FAP obstructionism, the FAP will have lost all trust between our two parties. |

Message | You got the majority because you got seats from the nearly dead KFP and a low-turn out rate came into your favor. Voter turnout rose a tad this year but was still disappointing. I've always been opposed to early elections, you can look at my record, and see that I have always voted against early elections nor have I proposed any early election proposals myself. I see no need in them only if there is an emergency. There is no need to have another election after we just had one 11 months ago. Yes, one of the reasons I opposed the last early election proposal because I wanted it to fall on the 100th anniversary of the GG creation but that was not the sole reason. You wanted that early election because you were pissed off that the Radicals left leaving you to fend for yourself and I proposed a bunch of bills that had enough support to pass and you didn't want them to pass so you tried to get an early election to stop them from doing so. The early election proposal was also in May, 8 months away from elections; there was no need for an election so close to the official election date. Obstructionism? Stop trying to play with words to gain petty-political gain. |
