Bill: Artanian Free Trade Organisation Act 2763
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2764
Description[?]:
Artanian Free Trade Organisation Ratified by the Democratic Republic of Aloria on June 2696 The Democratic Republic of Aloria is currently in non-compliance with Article 2 of this treaty which states: The ratifiers acknowledge that with respect to: [Government policy towards giving aid to foreign countries.] The policy of their national government and law should be: [The government only gives aid for disaster relief in foreign countries] or [The government gives moderate aid to countries in need] Whilst our governments current policy is this: Government policy towards giving aid to foreign countries. [The government gives high levels of aid to countries in need.] Is our nation still a member of this treaty? In which case our legislation regarding foreign aid must be changed or else we should withdraw our ratification. We believe that free trade is a highly advantageous policy which to pursue. The proposal attached does not contravine the International Committee of the Red Cross commitments. |

Message | We are aware of the previous votes on abolition of the treaty which was defeated and modification of our foreign aid contributions which was also defeated. This leaves Aloria in a position where an international treaty is supported by this government yet which this government is unable to comply with. We feel this harms our international reputation and is not in the best interests of the people of Aloria. |
