MessageNever, local governments are far more prone to being irresponsible and completely doing away with environmental protection laws altogether.

Imagine if Texas did'nt have to follow any Federal environmental laws..

MessageWe are not doing away with environmental laws, simply allowing local governments more flexibility.

For one thing, while allowing private forestry we will retain the provision that all clearance operations must be sustainable, with reforestation at equal or greater levels.

MessageWe disagree. There are too many different ethnicities in Sekowo that too much localization will lead to the end of the Imperial Federation at worst.

MessageIt's not like we're putting the whole government on a local basis. This bill does basically three things. First, it lets local governments, who already handle registration of pets, allow exotic or endangered pets to be registered if they so choose. Second, it allows localities to permit private forestry, under the existing legal requirements that all clearance be accompanied by new plantation at higher than replacement levels. Third, it gives local governments oversight over hunting and fishing. In all three of these cases, the local governments will be overseeing their own ecosystems, answerable directly to the communities that depend on those ecosystems. They're not going to act irresponsibly in such a case, since their familiarity with the land and interest in its stewardship are greater than those of any national bureaucracy.

MessageWhile we support Federalism (if I did'nt, Sekowo would'nt have Federation in its name), we simply do not trust local governments when it comes to environmental regulations and laws.
