Bill: Calling for a New Census
Details
Submitted by[?]: Nationale Demokratische Union
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2775
Description[?]:
I'm not sure when it was the last time the demographics of Hulstria were updated (decided), but I'm sure it would probably be a good time to decide upon new percentages since it has been a while. The demographics I'm talking about are religion and ethnicity (as seen on the wiki page, which is another thing needing some updating). This bill basically is the area to discuss new numbers and agreeing on them and then voting on it making it official as part of Hulstria's RP. |

Message | I think a ratio of 80% Hulstrian/ Kazulian/other white , 20% Gao-Showa sounds right. |

Message | When it comes to the "white" part of the numbers, I think we should divide it up separately between the larger groups and combine really small groups into just "Other". Most European countries in their census do it like that, they don't have the American "white" classification. |

Message | 70% - Hulstrian 5% - Kazulian 1% - Welsh/White Dovani Native 4% - Other |

Message | It should be pointed out that while Hulstrian are RL German/Austrian equivalent, Mitranians supposed to be RL Dutch equivalent. |

Message | The 80/20 sounds about right. Plus MSP said there are 1.5 (?) million Mormons in Moroni. I figure they constitute probably 90-95% of the Hulstrian Mormon population. |

Message | For religion, this is my suggestion: 78% Christian - 82% Lutheran - 14% Catholic - 2% Mormon - 1% Other 15% Taoic - 96% Shinto - 4% Buddhist 6% Atheist/Agnostic 1% Other |

Message | I think the percentage of Lutherans should be decreased and we cannot forget Episcopalians, (several CLA Governors-General have been of that denomination) 78% Christian - 63% Lutheran - 19% Episcopalian - 10% Catholic - 2% Mormon - 6% Other |

Message | 6% atheist/agnostic? I figure that, given Hulstria's religiosity, 'spiritual' people would take the place of atheist/agnostics as the majority of the non-religious. This is the case in the US, at least, where 15% list no religion, but only 1% or so say atheist. |

Message | Just noting I don't have a problem with the current numbers. But I figure Hulstria is at least as religiously dogmatic as the US, so they'd have similar numbers. Though I haven't been here long so maybe atheists have been granted some tolerance. |

Message | The US government's numbers may say 1% for atheist, but there are much more atheists than that. Austria, which we're based of of, is 8% atheist/agnostic. Other numbers from Europe: 33% in France 30% in Czechia 27% in Belgium 27% in Netherlands 26% in Estonia 25% in Germany and so on... But getting back to Hulstria, at the moment, this seems to be the agreed numbers between myself, the CLA, and HNP: 78% Christian - 63% Lutheran - 19% Episcopalian - 10% Catholic - 2% Mormon - 6% Other 15% Taoic - 96% Shinto - 4% Buddhist 6% Atheist/Agnostic 1% Other 70% - Hulstrian 5% - Kazulian 1% - Welsh/White Dovani Native 4% - Other 20% - Gao-Showa |

Message | I want to here from more than just three parties. This is something that regards Hulstria as a whole. |

Message | I guess since no one else has expressed interest in voicing their opinion in this, I'm putting forward to vote. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
