Proposal[?] to change Higher education tuition policy.
Old value:: The government introduces means tested loans for higher education tuition, to be paid back by students after earnings reach a certain amount.
Current: The government subsidizes tuition only for students from families classified as low-income or poor.
Proposed: The government subsidizes higher education tuition to a certain amount, the rest is covered by the individual students. This includes scholarship programs.
Article 2
Proposal[?] to change Singing the national anthem in schools.
Old value:: Children are only made to sing the national anthem on special occasions.
Current: Children are never made to sing the national anthem.
Proposed: Children are not made to sing the national anthem, but are required to show respect when it is played at the commencement of school each day.
Article 3
Proposal[?] to change National Curriculum
Old value:: invalid choice
Current: There is a National Curriculum which all government schools are obliged to follow; non-government schools are partially exempt.

Message | We prefer the current higher education policy, and we see no problem with it. However, we are not opposed to Article 2, and would support it in a seperate piece of legislation. Similarly, Article 3 may be acceptable to us. We will abstain from any voting on this legislation until we have reached a decision. |
