Bill: Cabinet Proposal of September 2780
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kébé Front
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2781
Description[?]:
A unity government with cabinet members from all the legitimate parties. OOC: I used a pretty simple mathematical method to make this cabinet. I assigned each position a value from 1-5, for a total of 30 points in the entire cabinet. Each party got points based on how many seats they had in the legislature. Then I assigned each party seats based on their points. Obviously there was a little rounding involved, but it's a fairly equal cabinet. |

Message | Shall we remind the Kebe Front that we supported them during the elections? A little show of good faith may be appreciated. |
Date | 23:43:20, July 02, 2009 CET | From | Kébé Front | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2780 |
Message | Shall we remind the Liberal Party that they have been the corrupt rulers of this land for nearly a century, that the Kébé Front has no wish to associate itself in a government with the Liberal Party, and that any private talks between our two parties were simply an attempt to garner information from the Liberal Party? |
Date | 23:47:13, July 02, 2009 CET | From | United Republics Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2780 |
Message | The era of Liberal corruption has ended! |
Date | 23:49:42, July 02, 2009 CET | From | The Liberal Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2780 |
Message | And your party actually thought they received any credible information. That's laughable. But if this is how you pay us, that's fine. We won't forget. Keep that in mind. |

Message | We commend this honourable Cabinet. |
Date | 00:11:23, July 03, 2009 CET | From | United Republics Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2780 |
Message | And you accuse the URP of vendettas? I was unaware that the decision of the Kebe to side with reform, rational governance, and democracy would provoke such ugly threats. The Liberals continue to expose themselves as power hungry, paranoid, and unable to cooperate on equal terms with its fellow parties. |
Date | 00:15:27, July 03, 2009 CET | From | The Liberal Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2780 |
Message | And what threats is the URP talking about now? The ones in their imaginations? We didn't issue any threats whatsoever. Do remember that those who think like criminals are criminals. |
Date | 02:05:07, July 03, 2009 CET | From | Kébé Front | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2780 |
Message | That is, in fact, incorrect. What one thinks amounts to nothing in terms of criminality compared to the actions one takes. Regardless of whether the Liberal Party believed itself an honorable supporter of democracy, their actions have proved that they are a corrupt authoritarian party. |

Message | OOC: Kebe, that was dispicable politics, the liberal party endorsed your candidate, thus letting you win the predidential elections, then you backstabbed them. I will never forget this act of tretchery, and you can be sure of my endorsing the liberals, to form a DECENT coalition government. I know from past experience that the liberals are one of the only rational parties in this game. |
Date | 11:37:29, July 03, 2009 CET | From | United Republics Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2780 |
Message | ooc: Just a note - you may want to consider proposing a backup cabinet in case CDR is inactive. I don't think he's been on for a few days. |
Date | 12:49:52, July 03, 2009 CET | From | Radical Nationalist Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2780 |
Message | OOC: I hate when you keep getting inactive parties slowing the game down. IC: Kébé acted in the interests of protecting Lodamese Democracy. Either Way the Liberal Party would never have made the presidency as it was a fight between Kébé and RNP. |
Date | 13:23:13, July 03, 2009 CET | From | The Liberal Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2780 |
Message | OOC: I would hardly call two days without logging in inactive but you guys are simply impatient. Gees, just relax and enjoy the game guys. There are some things that are just out of control. IC: It is not about whether we won the Presidential race or not but we don't expect the RNP to comprehend what the honorable members of the FPP said. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
