| Message | Mr. Speaker, Should the Universal Declaration of Human Rights be accepted by the legislature, as it likely will, it would be unconstitutional NOT to pass this legislation. By exposing our children to religious prayer, our government is explicitly engaging in indoctrination, as well as endorsing a state religion. Furthermore, we provide that the Holy Luthori Empire has the worst education in Terra, with no government funding. Our people are generally intelligent, but without state universities, they cannot put their intellect to use. The Social Democrats request that you reconsider your stand on this issue. I yield. |

| Message | LDP of Luthori Secretary to the Imperial Diet, the Rt Hon. David Bowman: "Mr Speaker, The private education system within the Holy Luthori Empire has served the people for nearly a century without any trouble whatsoever. There is no evidence at all that the education provided to our students is of a lower quality than you would find in any of the other first world nations. The Social Democrats seem to fail to understand that, although there are no state universities, there are many privately run schools and universities which are often much more efficiently run than a state one could ever dream to be. We would also like to remind the Social Democrats that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights has NOT been accepted by the legislature as it hasn't even been brought to vote in front of the Imperial Diet. Thus the constitutionality of this bill must be judged by current constitutional law, not what may be law at some stage in the future. I yield." |
