Bill: Natural Foods Act of 2797

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan People's Justice Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2797

Description[?]:

The tinkerers, by irresponsibly playing around with the genes in our food crops, endanger not only the health and safety of Kirlawan consumers, plus those of the plant and animal species involved, but also that of our ecosystem at large as new diseases arise in and spread from these modified lifeforms.

Let's end these hazards, and return to a safe and natural food supply instead.
Continuing research can help us reduce the threat of such diseases spreading across Kirlawa's borders, from some of our neighbors who on this issue follow approaches which are less wise.

MessageAll those haszards that you described don't exist, and if they did exsist, they would be the same as so called "natural" food.
There is no difference between "natural" and GM food, except that GM food is better able to survive and therefore feed more people.
Anyways all food is GM. Just some are modified more by people.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar).

Random quote: "We must face the fact that the preservation of individual freedom is incompatible with a full satisfaction of our views of distributive justice." - Friedrich August von Hayek
