Message | The Social Justice Party is interested in the debate of this issue and could be persuaded to join with the GPA in support of this measure. The Social Justice Party sees this as a question of civil rights and as to whether civil rights are either respected or ignored by supporting this measure. It must be asked whether we gain rights by allowing polygamous marriages or lose them due to potential use of polygamy to oppress the polygamous partner's gender. If the GPA could convince us that the latter concern is no concern of all, we could reliably support this policy in the future. In the current moment, we support this bill only out of interest of a civil rights stance shown to the people of Aldegar in the immediate moment. |

Message | The Green Party has always had strong links with the feminist movement, and on that light, this bill shall guarantee the right of a woman to have many husbands too. |

Message | We guessed that when we first looked at the bill, but our concern remains. Will women really take advantage of the opportunity to have many husbands? It seems more likely to the SJP that polygamy, even well-intentioned to be egalitarian for both genders, would become the preserve of a well-to-do set of men that would desire many wives and could support them financially as well. It furthermore must be asked about the effects on the partners that have the more common gender or upon the partners that are tied to a central partner, whether or not these partners would be exploited on an individual scale, even if the bill is overall not anti-feminist or showing any particular biases. While the SJP supports civil rights, to the SJP polygamy is still a strange and odd ritual and thus far has only trusted a general support for civil rights in supporting it. If the GPA could enlighten the SJP on this issue polygamy and dispel the rumors and ideas that have developed amongst the founders and early supporters of this party, we would be grateful. |

Message | This bill is not about traditions and culture, it is about giving individuals the right to choose their own lifestyle. A woman might be married to a man practicing polygamy or a man practicing monogamy, and it does not tell us whether the man will treat her badly or not, vice versa. To avoid such dangers, Aldegar has a solid legal framework to protect against domestic violence, and an egalitarian approach to divorce, etc. In short, the same legal circumstances will apply to polygamous relationships as they do monogamy. |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |

It leaves every man free to choose the work he likes, to specialize in it, to trade his product for the products of others, and to go as far on the road of achievement as his ability and ambition will carry him." - Ayn Rand |
