MessageI think the word 'hate' is objective and should really be changed to critical.

MessageI think there is a misconception in this proposed legislation. The current law prohibits false information and hate speech.
I agree with FGP in that Hate Speech is not Free Speech. For example, it is Free Speech to say that: the earth is flat, however it is Hate Speech to state that: all Asians deserve to die.
There is a rather large difference, and therefore I think that allowing the media to publish freely would be somewhat detrimental.
NP, who would decide if the information is false? If it is a government agency, wouldn't it undermine the fundamental principles of a Liberal Democracy?

MessageNP, Liberal Democracy prides itself on a free and skeptical media. This propsed legislation will undermine such principles.

MessageWhat exactly does that have to do with the bill? This is removing unnecessary censorship of hate speech.

MessageThis has a lot to do with the bill. I fear the Government would be given the power to deem all information detrimental to governance as "Hate Speech".

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context.
