Message | I think the word 'hate' is objective and should really be changed to critical. |

Message | I think there is a misconception in this proposed legislation. The current law prohibits false information and hate speech. I agree with FGP in that Hate Speech is not Free Speech. For example, it is Free Speech to say that: the earth is flat, however it is Hate Speech to state that: all Asians deserve to die. There is a rather large difference, and therefore I think that allowing the media to publish freely would be somewhat detrimental. NP, who would decide if the information is false? If it is a government agency, wouldn't it undermine the fundamental principles of a Liberal Democracy? |

Message | No, it wouldn't. At all. |

Message | NP, Liberal Democracy prides itself on a free and skeptical media. This propsed legislation will undermine such principles. |

Message | What exactly does that have to do with the bill? This is removing unnecessary censorship of hate speech. |

Message | This has a lot to do with the bill. I fear the Government would be given the power to deem all information detrimental to governance as "Hate Speech". |

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context. |
